What Scares You?

Whatever scares you, gives you anxiety, makes you feel uneasy, nervous, or uncomfortable in life—identify what that is—and introduce more of it into your life.

Immediately!

That’s why you are reading this book, isn’t it?

Are you looking to achieve exponential growth in your personal life, in your professional life, in your businesses and beyond? That requires you to stretch in a lot of areas and often become quite uncomfortable.

We need to create life experiences that force us to stretch. We must stretch to grow. Like a muscle, if we don’t push and stretch, we won’t grow ourselves and our lives.

I’m a huge fan of personal and professional development. I invest a lot of time, money and energy into growing and learning in every way I can: books, podcasts, coaching, conferences, retreats, masterminds, courses—you name it. I push myself with new experiences and meeting interesting people every day.

Therefore I’m constantly trying to identify lingering fears and face them head-on.

I recently went to a conference where I became super honest and vulnerable with myself and with hundreds of strangers. I shared a very personal story of my life.

So the catch? I had to share my story in three minutes. Only 3 minutes!

Even for someone who is naturally verbose and long-winded, who never wrote an essay in school or college under the word limit, who always goes over the allotted time—this was extremely challenging for me, given the sheer volume of content and the personal nature of it.

However, I quickly jumped at this opportunity to deliver my message in this highly-condensed format—because I knew it would challenge me and push me outside my comfort zone.

I knew it would force me to make sacrifices and cut to the very core of my message and story. I knew there was pressure and no turning back once I signed up. It would be a sort of a Cortés-like “burning of the ships” moment.

I had to be ready.

You have to find a way.

I had to overcome the anxiety and slight fear, and deliver.

Make sure you find ways to stretch each and every day.

Do things that scare you, big and small.

Book things to do where others are watching.

Set wild goals like exercising every day for the rest of the year, when you usually go to the gym once a week.

Whatever it is, make sure you’re always looking to stretch beyond your comfort zone and into the areas of fear and anxiety.

That is where genuine growth in mind, body, spirit and life experience truly happens.

Have an awesome day!

Let’s GO!
